Rachael Heffernan has completed a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Religion from Bishops University and a Master of Arts in Religious Studies from the University of Alberta. Her specialities are in ancient religion and in social memory studies. Her education has included extensive learning in History and Anthropology, but she has also studied university-level Chemistry, French, and Biology.
Rachael has a fourth degree black belt in karate and began to teach at a young age as part of her martial arts training. In her teens, Rachael started working with children and youth with special needs, especially those with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Dyslexia, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, and anxiety. Throughout University, Rachael worked as a Tutor and Teacher’s Assistant. Rachael is a passionate and energetic educator that strives to create a successful classroom for all students. She is happy to accommodate different learning skills, needs, and approaches and works with students to create strategies for thriving in all areas of school life. |
